SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA men's golf team will continue the spring season Monday-Tuesday, Feb. 25-26, at the 34th Annual Louisiana Classics at Oakbourne Country Club (par 72/6,866 yards in Lafayette, La.
The Roadrunners will compete against No. 26 Illinois, Kent State, Louisiana, Louisiana Tech, McNeese State, North Texas, Oral Roberts, Rice, Sam Houston State, Southern Miss, Texas State, Toledo, UMKC and Wichita State. The field will play 36 holes beginning with an 8 a.m. shotgun start Monday and the final round will tee off at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.
UTSA tied for ninth place at last year's Louisiana Classics with an 872 (287-294-291). Zander Lozano was the top individual, carding a 1-under-par 215 (73-72-70) to tie for 21st.
The Roadrunners are coming off a seventh-place finish at the rain-shortened All-American Intercollegiate on Feb. 18-19 at the Golf Club of Houston. UTSA posted a 587 (287-300) to finish four shots ahead of Rice in the 14-team field. Adam House (72-73—145) and Michael Rome (73-72—145) finished in a tie for 12th place at 1-over par to lead the way.
