The series will resume later on Saturday with a nine-inning game three. The game will be broadcast live on CUSA.tv.
UTSA opened the game in the bottom of the first inning with a pair of runs. Tapia led off with an eight-pitch at-bat before launching his first homer of the year over the leftfield fence. After a line-out, Arias singled to left-centerfield and stole second base. Rock then worked the count full and singled into right-centerfield to plate Arias from scoring position.
In the bottom of the second inning, UTSA added to its lead with three runs. Sturges reached on a one-out double and Sirdashney legged out an infield single. Lamb then ripped a two-run double down the leftfield line, scoring Sturges and Sirdashney. Lamb then motored home from third on a passed ball for a 5-0 lead.
The Roadrunners pated a run in the bottom of the third inning, getting a one-out double into the opposite-field gap from Barber, who scored on a double down the rightfield line by Thornquist.
UTSA added on in the fifth inning, getting a leadoff walk from Rock, who moved into scoring position after a single from Thornquist. Sturges scored Rock with a single through the left side, with the runners taking an extra base after the leftfielder sailed it over the cut-off man.
The Roadrunners added three in the bottom of the sixth inning, getting leadoff walks from Tapia and Paxton and an RBI double from Arias. A wild pitch allowed a run to score before Barber smacked a single up the middle to score Arias for a 10-0 lead.
