SAN ANTONIO -- The UTSA men's tennis team, winners of five of six matches to open the dual-meet season, will return to action on Sunday, traveling to face SMU at 2:30 p.m.
UTSA (5-1) has won three straight matches – all on the road – entering its matchup at SMU on Sunday. The Roadrunners opened 2019 with a pair of wins over Prairie View A&M, suffered a loss at No. 8 Texas, before posting wins at Nicholls, New Orleans and Lamar.
Juri Reckow (Hamburg, Germany) and Javier Rodriguez (Trujillo, Peru) have shined to lead the Roadrunners in 2019, each sporting 5-1 records in singles. Reckow has teamed with Joao Ceolin (Palotina, Brazil) to go 4-1 in doubles, Rodriguez and Javier Gonzalez (San Fernando, Chile) have formed a doubles pair and posted a 2-1 mark.
Junior Kai Breitbach (Kaarst, Germany) has gone 2-3 in singles and teamed with Alan Sanson (Santiago, Chile) to go 3-1 in doubles. Sanson owns a 3-1 mark in singles. Patrick Poestinger (Ennsdorf, Austria) has gone 3-0 in singles.
