HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The UTSA soccer team fell short to Southern Miss, 1-0 Thursday afternoon at the Southern Miss Track & Field and Soccer Complex.
The Roadrunners fall to 5-7-1 overall and 1-4-1 in C-USA action, while the Golden Eagles improve to 10-3 and 4-2 in the C-USA.

In the first half, UTSA and USM had a continuous fight for possession of the ball until the 29thminute when Monica Maldonaldo found the net behind Michelle Cole for a Southern Miss goal.
The second half started like the first, a back-and-forth battle of the ball.
UTSA made multiple efforts to find the net with eight shots and hour shots on goal, outshooting Southern Miss, who had three. Marianne Hernandez led the team with three shots, while Katieann Lochte, Jordyn Lacy, Channing Machen, Olivia Nicholls and Harper Luczka all had one.
The Roadrunners return to the field on Sunday at Louisiana Tech who defeated UTEP, 1-0 tonight. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
