SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA men's golf team will travel to Chandler, Ariz., for the Wyoming Cowboy Classic on Monday-Tuesday, April 9-10, at Whirlwind Golf Club (par 72/7,334 yards).
The Roadrunners will compete against Air Force, Cal State Fullerton, Gonzaga, Houston Baptist, Long Beach State, McNeese State, Sam Houston State, Southern Utah, Texas State, UC Davis, Utah State, Utah Valley, Wichita State and Wyoming and individuals from Arizona and Arizona State. The field will play 36 holes on Monday and the final round is slated for Tuesday. Live scoring will be provided at golfstat.com.
UTSA is coming off an eighth-place finish at the Lone Star Invitational on March 19-20 at Briggs Ranch Golf Club in San Antonio. Zander Lozano fired a 1-under-par 215 (72-72-71) to tie for eighth place, his fifth top-10 finish of the season and 14th of his career. Michael Rome tied for 24th with a 220 (72-72-76) and Jake Goodman was 46th with a 226 (75-79-72).
The Roadrunners last played in the Wyoming Cowboy Classic in 2014 when they tied for eighth place with an 860 behind a 15th-place effort from Bryce Alley.
