CORPUS CHRISTI – The UTSA men's tennis team won its fifth consecutive match with a 4-2 victory over New Mexico State in the semifinals of the 52nd annual H-E-B Tournament of Champions on Friday evening. The Roadrunners will face South Alabama in the championship match at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
UTSA won all of the top four flights in singles play to secure the victory.
Javier Gonzalez provided the clinching point, as the freshman notched a come-from-behind, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory over Enrique Asmar at the fourth spot.
Kai Breitbach also notched a three-set win, while Juri Reckow and Gabriel Bugiga were winners in straight sets.
