Anderson and Douglas take event titles at the Charlie Thomas Invitational

COLLEGE STATION – Senior Ty Anderson and freshman Andre Douglas won the high jump and triple jump, respectively, to lead a total of 32 top-10 event finishes at the Texas A&M-hosted Charlie Thomas Invitational.

Anderson's season-best high jump clearance of 2.07m (6' 9.5") on his third leap of the day ranks third on the C-USA performance list. Douglas' personal-best triple jump of 15.18m (49" 9.75") on his second attempt of the afternoon is not only the best by a Roadrunner this season, but also third-best in the conference.

The 60m hurdles saw Victoria Rausch advance from the prelims with an 8.67 before placing seventh in final with an 8.66. Patrick Prince won his 60m hurdles prelim heat with a season-best-tying 7.97 to earn the top seed in the finals. Prince then posted an 8.09 in the finals to place sixth, crossing the line just in front of teammate Justin Gerbrecht in seventh with an 8.18.

In the women's 400-meter Jennifer Arinze placed fourth with a 56.39 and Darionne Gibson eighth in a personal-best setting 57.04.  The 200-meter men's race had Desmond Jefferson place fourth with a PR of 21.50 and Byron Taylor ninth with a 21.68 PR.
