HOUSTON – UTSA softball completed the Hilton Plaza Invitational in the tournament finale against Houston on Sunday afternoon.
Inclement weather canceled, the Roadrunners' contest against UNLV before UTSA fell to Houston, 7-0, at Cougar Softball Stadium.
After two innings, the Cougars (8-4) scored two runs in the third frame and would sore five more runs in the fifth to claim their fourth consecutive win of the weekend.
UTSA (7-5) recorded three hits as sophomore Celeste Loughman singled in the first and second innings while sophomore Rylee Rodriguez registered a single in the fourth frame.
Senior Lizzy Fox made her sixth start of the season against Houston, striking-out a season-best five batters.
UTSA will be back in action this Wednesday with a rivalry contest against Texas State at Roadrunner Field. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
