PRAIRIE VIEW – The UTSA men's tennis team swept a pair of matches against Prairie View A&M on Wednesday at the PVAM Tennis Center.
The Roadrunners (4-5) won both matches by identical 4-0 scores.
In the opener, the Birds picked up the doubles point with wins at the top two flights and then quickly earned three points in singles play behind a trio of straight-set victories.
Kai Breitbach captured the clinching point at the top spot, as the sophomore tallied a 6-3, 6-0 win over Ulrick Boyogueno.
Meanwhile, the second contest featured only singles matches, all won by UTSA.
Igor Cantanhede put the Roadrunners up 1-0 with a 6-0, 6-2 win at the fifth position. Joao Ceolin was on the right side of a 6-3, 6-2 decision at the fourth spot, while Juri Reckow picked up a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles.
Javier Gonzalez earned the clinching tally at the third position after collecting a 6-3, 6-1 triumph.

"We sat through another rain delay today, but the guys stayed focused and handled it very well. We played the first match and won the doubles point. We battled through tough conditions in singles because it was windy.
"I was happy that we were able to play a second match because we played better in the that contest. It showed me the guys are working on things and playing well. Now we have some time to prepare for Incarnate Word."

UTSA will return to action on Sunday, Feb. 25, as the Roadrunners are scheduled to host Incarnate Word at the UTSA Tennis Center. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
