Riley’s long jump victory leads UTSA at Ted Nelson Invitational

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Adrian Riley's long jump win led six UTSA podium finishes at the 2018 indoor track & field season-opening Ted Nelson Invitational on Saturday at Texas A&M.

Riley defeated 17 competitors in the long jump field with a leap of 7.47m (24' 6.25") on his first attempt of the day. The distance is the fourth-longest in UTSA history and a personal-best for the senior.

Both Patrick Prince and Victoria Rausch finished on the podium in the 60-meter hurdles. Prince finished second in his prelim with an 8.07, then posted an 8.05 in the finals to take the silver. Rausch, a freshman, came home second in her prelim with an 8.62 before running an 8.59 in the finals, which was good for third. Rausch's 8.59 in the final ranks as the fourth-fastest time in Roadrunner history.

Vasha Sheriff placed third in the 400-meter, stopping the clock in 47.18. Meanwhile, freshman Luca Chatham clocked a 1:52.04 in the men's 800-meter to place second in the event and record the third-quickest time in program history.

Freshman Lacee Barnes threw the shot 14.20m (46' 7.25") to place third in her Roadrunner debut.

Overall, UTSA placed fourth of eight on the men's team leaderboard with 67 total points, while the Roadrunner women totaled 33 points to place seventh.
