MIAMI – UTSA scored three second-half goals, including the game-winner by Dina Draguicevich in the 63rd minute to notch a come-from-behind, 4-2 victory against FIU on Sunday afternoon.
The Panthers (1-12, 0-8 C-USA) held a 2-1 advantage at halftime, but were held to only seven shots in the entire contest.
FIU kicked off the scoring the 32nd minute, as Courtney Phillips found her way in the box and converted a pass from Michaela Rouse into a goal.
The Roadrunners (3-13, 2-7 C-USA) pulled even a minute later on a brilliant strike by Harper Luczka from 25 yards out.
The Panthers reclaimed the lead in the 35th minute when Rouse put the ball in the back of the net.
However, UTSA owned the second half.
Katieann Lochte scored the equalizer in the 62nd minute, as she lofted a shot from 30 yards out over the goalkeeper and into the back of the net.
Two minutes later, Draguicevich netted the game-winner.
Jordyn Lacy had a left-footed shot that was deflected over to Draguicevich, who volleyed it with her right foot into the upper 90 to put the Roadrunners ahead for good.
Kaja Skare added an insurance goal in the 78th minute when she headed in a corner-kick service from Marianne Hernandez.
UTSA, which attempted 19 shots in the victory, will return to San Antonio to host UTEP (7-11, 3-6 C-USA) on Friday, Oct. 27. The regular-season finale is scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m. at Park West Athletics Complex.
