UTSA names Kelley Nittoli assistant women's golf coach

SAN ANTONIO — UTSA head women's golf coach Summer Batiste announced on Monday that she has named Kelley Nittoli as assistant coach.

"We are very excited to have Kelley join our program," Batiste said. "She is a great player with a tremendous amount of playing experience, and that will have an immediate impact on our team. We are very fortunate to have her join our Roadrunner family, and we look forward to a great year ahead."

Nittoli played professionally on the LPGA Tour, LPGA Futures Tour, Ladies European Tour and the Ladies Asian Golf Tour under her maiden name, Kelley Markette. She has experience as a teaching professional in the Metropolitan Section PGA and as an assistant golf professional at Houston Country Club.

After a break from golf to raise her children, Nittoli returned to competitive golf as an amateur in the 2012 USGA Women's Mid-Amateur at Briggs Ranch, where she advanced to the round of 16. A representative of the South Team at the Women's Texas Cup for five consecutive years, she won the Greater San Antonio Senior Women's Championship in 2014 and 2016. She was the San Antonio Senior Women's Player of the Year and Women's Southern Golf Association Senior Champion in 2014.

Nittoli played collegiately at Houston Baptist, where she received degrees in accounting and finance.

She is married to Jim Nittoli, the Director of Golf at San Antonio Country Club.  They have one son, James, who plays baseball at Trinity University in San Antonio, and a daughter, Julia, who plays on the golf team at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn.
