UTSA to resume postseason competition at this weekend's NCAA Championships Preliminary Rounds

SAN ANTONIO — UTSA's men's track & field team will continue postseason competition this weekend when it competes at the NCAA Championships Preliminary Rounds. The three-day meet is scheduled to begin on Thursday at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin and a total of 14 athletes will represent the Roadrunners in 11 events.

Ty Anderson (high jump), Randy Bermea (400m hurdles), Barrett Brock (pole vault), Mikael Dawkins (400m relay), Tyler Finke (shot put), Desmond Jefferson (400m relay/1,600m relay), Mason Loiodice (1,600m relay), Victor Perez (hammer), Andrew Pirog (1,600m relay), Patrick Prince (110m hurdles), Adrian Riley (long jump), Kaylon Sellers (triple jump/400m relay), Vasha Sheriff (400m/1,600m relay) and Byron Taylor (400m relay) will continue their season at this weekend's opening rounds of the national meet (click here for the complete meet schedule).

Sheriff comes into the meet with the 11th-fastest time in the 400 meters, while Prince ranks 13th in the 110m hurdles and Anderson stands 17th in the high jump.

Anderson, Bermea, Brock, Finke and Prince all won Conference USA titles two weeks ago in El Paso, as the Roadrunners finished second in the team standings.

Twelve competitors from each event and a dozen relay teams will advance from Austin to the NCAA Championships, which are scheduled for June 7-10 in Eugene, Ore.
