CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Dajana Boskovic and Antonela Jularic paced UTSA with 18 and 17 kills, respectively, to lead UTSA to a 3-1 victory (25-22, 25-8, 24-26, 25-18) at Charlotte on Thursday night at Halton Arena.
Boskovic notched a season-high .552 hitting percentage behind her 18 kills and added eight digs and a pair of blocks to her performance. Meanwhile, Jularic registered her sixth double-double on 17 kills and 10 digs, while matching a career high four aces.
Jessica Waldrip helped the Roadrunners' .351 team attack percentage with her 41 helpers and chipped in with nine digs.
The Roadrunners road victory improves the team's overall record to 19-6 and moves UTSA to 10-3 in Conference USA, while Charlotte drops to 7-22 overall and 1-12 in the league.
UTSA's slow start was no indicator of what was to come. After the final tie of the opening frame at 10-all, the Roadrunners scored four straight points to jump to a 14-10 lead and force the home team to its first timeout.
Twelve rallies later, Charlotte was within two points at 19-17, but the Roadrunners managed to hold off the Niners and post the 25-22 win.
UTSA dominated the second set 25-8 and was the second time this season that the Roadrunners held an opponent to single digits in a set. The Roadrunners used various lengthy scoring rallies with its longest of seven straight to lead 10-2.
Charlotte kept the match going on its senior night as the 49ers won 26-24. The third set featured 13 ties and five lead changes and saw UTSA draw the final tie at 24 on a kill by Boskovic.
In the fourth set, UTSA secured the road win with a 25-18 victory. The Roadrunners hit a match-high .600.
UTSA returns to the Lone Star State for its final regular season match against Rice on Saturday, Nov. 12, at 1 p.m.
