UTSA to head to Marshall for Sunday matchup

SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will travel to West Virginia for its lone match of the week on Sunday, Oct. 9, when the Roadrunners meet with Marshall at 12 p.m. (CT) at the Cam Henderson Center.

UTSA (12-3, 3-0) heads into the weekend riding a nine-match win streak, the longest since the 2014 season when the Roadrunners won a program second-best 15 in a row. UTSA sits in a three-way tie for first in the Conference USA standings with WKU and Rice.

Over the weekend, senior Dajana Boskovic helped UTSA to a 2-0 record with wins over North Texas and UTEP en route to her third C-USA Offensive Player of the Week award. Boskovic averaged 4.10 kills per set and collected her fifth double-double of the season against UTEP with 22 kills and 11 digs.

Boskovic continues to sit atop the C-USA leaderboards in kills with her NCAA ninth-best 4.78 per set. Marijeta Runjic joins the senior with 3.18 kills per set, which is best for 10th in the league. Meanwhile, Jessica Waldrip ranks in two categories sitting in fourth in assists per set (10.29) and eighth in services aces per set (0.33). Libero Shelby Williams boats a team-best and conference fourth-best 0.39 aces per set.

Originally scheduled to host FIU on Friday, Marshall and the Panthers will have to reschedule due to Hurricane Matthew. The Thundering Herd own a 13-5 overall record and 2-1 mark in C-USA.

Marshall has won nine of its last 11 contests and is coming off its first conference setback with a 3-0 loss to Southern Miss. The Thundering Herd are led by Jac'cara Walker's 3.28 kills per set and team-best 22 aces. Cassie Weaver adds 3.15 kills per set to the offense and is second on the team with 157 digs.

On the other side of the ball, Madison Hill has collected 52 blocks and is averaging 0.87 per set.
