SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will split its weekend once again as the Roadrunners play at Middle Tennessee on Friday, Oct. 14, and host UTEP on Sunday, Oct. 16, at the Convocation Center at 1 p.m.
UTSA (12-4) has slipped in the latest Conference USA standings as the Roadrunners sit fifth with a 3-1 mark in league play. WKU remains the only unbeaten team in the conference while three teams tie for second.
The Roadrunners recently snapped its nine-match winning streak with a road loss at Marshall. UTSA was held to its lowest hitting percentage of the season with a .143 clip. Despite the loss, the Roadrunners still own the second-best attack percentage in C-USA with a .264 hitting percentage and still top the league in aces per set with 1.68.
Outside hitter Dajana Boskovic remains the league-leader in kills averaging 4.66 per set, which is best for 10th in the nation. The senior ranks in the top-50 in three statistical categories, including points per set (11th) and attacks per set (36th).
Meanwhile, Jessica Waldrip adds 10.03 assists per set (602) to the offense and is second on the team with 20 aces.
On the other side of the ball, Shelby Williams leads the team with 3.18 digs per set (191) while Tessa Dahnert adds 53 blocks for 0.88 per frame.
Middle Tennessee welcomes UTSA to Murfreesboro with a 4-16 overall record and 1-5 mark in C-USA. The Blue Raiders are riding a six-match losing skid with its last win coming on Sept. 23 against UAB on the road, which opened league action.
MT sits 12th in the conference standings, one spot ahead of Charlotte who has yet to win a conference match.
Regan Coughlin leads the Blue Raiders offense averaging 2.32 kills per set and adds a team second-best 2.59 digs per set.
UTEP will make the trek to the Alamo City boasting a 4-14 overall record and a 2-3 mark in the conference. The Miners will take on North Texas in Denton on Friday before Sunday's matinee.
Offensively, Macey Austin paces the Miners with her 2.58 kills per set. UTEP tops the league in digs per set with 16.33, which is also best for 38th in the nation.
