Texas State blanks Roadrunners on Tuesday night, 6-0

SAN ANTONIO — Texas State blanked UTSA by a score of 6-0 on Tuesday night at Roadrunner Field. It marked the third and final meeting of the spring between the I-35 rivals.

The Roadrunners (15-28), who were shut out for the second time this season, recorded just two hits on the night. Bryan Arias had an infield single in the fourth and Jason Serchay lined a pinch-hit shot up the middle in the ninth.

Every player in the Texas State (24-22) starting lineup record at least one hit with three picking up a pair of base knocks.

The Bobcats scored their first three runs of the game on a pair of home runs with a solo shot in the first and a two-run long ball in the second. Texas State scored its final three runs in the fourth, as eight batters stepped up to the plate.

Both starting pitchers were the pitchers of record.

Jake Harrison (0-1) gave up all six runs and took his first decision of the season. Meanwhile, Chad Dullnig went 5.1 scoreless innings and scattered six hits in his fifth appearance of the season.

Meanwhile, Texas State starter Jeremy Hallonquist went five innings and allowed just one hit, walked two and struck out one for the win.

UTSA will return to Conference USA play this weekend when it travels to the Sunshine State to take on No. 17 Florida Atlantic for a three-game series that will begin at 5:30 p.m. (CT) on Friday.
