AUSTIN — Randy Bermea raced to second place in the 400-meter hurdles on Friday night to highlight the second day of action for the UTSA men's track & field team at this weekend's Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.

Bermea, who recorded the fastest preliminary heat time (PR 50.56) on Thursday, cleared the barriers in 51.18 en route to his silver medal. Arkansas' Larry Donald won the title in 50.91.

Meanwhile, Patrick Prince earned a spot in the 110m hurdles final after registering the sixth-fastest prelims time. The freshman from Conroe crossed the finish line in a career-best 14.09, which was four ticks faster than the mark he clocked last weekend at the Ricardo Romo Invitational. Saturday's final is scheduled for 2:35 p.m.

In field event competition, Tyler Finke placed seventh in the B section of the shot put with a measurement of 53-0 (16.15m).
