SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA duo of Trace Morrow and Dylan Godfrey posted top-20 finishes at the St. Mary’s Invitational, which was held Monday-Tuesday at the Dominion Country Club (par 72/6,937 yards).
Morrow tied for 14th place after carding a 7-over-par 223, a career best score for the junior. He posted a pair of 76s sandwiched around a UTSA career-low 71 in the second round. The Midland native played the par fives at four under on the strength of an eagle on the 528-yard seventh in the opening round.
Godfrey was one shot behind his teammate in a tie for 19th with an 8-over 224. The freshman from Bryan opened the event with a 3-under 69, which bettered his previous collegiate best by one shot, and followed with a 78 and 77.
Stefan Idstam of Southwestern Oklahoma State won the individual crown with a 209 (72-66-71), while St. Mary’s captured the team title with an 865 (291-283-291).
The Roadrunners will return to the course on Feb. 29-March 1 at the Louisiana Classics in Lafayette, La.
