BRYAN — Led by a season-best finish from J.J. Lindsey, UTSA placed 10th at the Aggie Invitational, which wrapped up Sunday at Traditions Club (7,146 yards/par 72).
Lindsey tied for 29th after carding a 77-71-80—228 to finish as the top Roadrunner for the first time this season. The junior from Adkins posted four of his six birdies during his fourth 71 of the campaign in Saturday's second round.
Brett Hogan turned in UTSA's low round on Sunday with a 3-over-par 75 that featured three birdies and the junior from Calgary, Alberta, tied for 38th at 231 (76-80-75).
Zander Lozano was three shots behind Hogan with a 234 (81-73-80) to finish 47th, while Bryce Alley and Garrison Lackey tied for 55th (81-80-76—237) and 58th (81-76-81—238), respectively. Competing as an individual, Christian De La Cruz also placed 58th (77-80-81—238).
The Roadrunners registered a 926 (315-300-311) to finish 10th in the field that included seven top-50 squads.
No. 9 Oklahoma captured the team title with an 884, followed by No. 11 Texas Tech (887), No. 34 Arkansas (888), No. 7 LSU (891) and No. 41 Texas A&M (894) in the top five.
California's K.K. Limbhasut won individual medalist honors with a 2-under 214 (73-69-72).
UTSA will return to the course on April 26-29 when it travels to Texarkana, Ark., for the Conference USA Championship.
