LEXINGTON, Ky. — Dajana Boskovic and Jessica Waldrip were named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association's All-Southwest Region Team, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Boskovic and Waldrip led UTSA to a 20-9 overall record this year and to the program’s second consecutive Conference USA Regular Season Championship. The pair also earned first-team all-league honors, while Waldrip was named the circuit’s Setter of the Year.
Boskovic led the Roadrunners with 4.64 kills per set (413), which ranks second in C-USA and 13th nationally. The 6-foot-1 outside hitter also tallied 215 digs and 71 blocks in her second campaign and she was second on the squad with 10 double-doubles. The two-time first-team all-conference performer tallied 24 matches with double figure kills, including nine with 20 or more.
Meanwhile, Waldrip averaged 10.94 assists per set, which currently ranks 36th in the nation and second in C-USA. She moved into seventh place in UTSA's all-time record book with 1,939 helpers. The New Braunfels native also notched 16 matches of 40-plus assists, including six of 50 or more. The sophomore matched a career best with 59 helpers twice this season and notched a team-leading 11 double-doubles.
This duo now will be considered for All-American accolades.
