SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA men’s golf team will compete in the Jerry Pate National Invitational at Old Overton Country Club (par 70/7,209 yards) in Vestavia Hills, Ala.
The Roadrunners will compete against teams from Alabama, Arkansas, Charlotte, Florida State, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, UAB and UNLV. The field will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday.
UTSA tied for 10th place with an 883 (295-294-294) at last year’s Jerry Pate National Invitational. Garrison Lackey led all Roadrunners with a 217 to tie for 27th.
The Roadrunners are coming off a seventh-place finish (580) at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational last week. Junior Brett Hogan led the way with a sixth-place showing after carding a 3-under-par 71-70—141 in the weather-shortened event, his third career top-10 finish.
