Senior Devon Bond skipped to his second outdoor triple jump record of the year at his former school on Saturday.

AUSTIN — Junior Devon Bond moved to within one spot of the nation's top 10 list with his second UTSA triple jump record of the season to lead the Roadrunners men's track & field team at Saturday's Texas Invitational.

The Trenton, N.J., native skipped 52-2 ¾ (15.92m) to finish fourth in the field of 15 competitors. That bested his previous standard of 51-6 ¼ (15.70m) established at last month's Texas Relays by eight-and-a-half inches and moved him to 11th on the national leaderboard. Bond holds a commanding lead of nearly three feet in the league standings with just two weeks remaining until the Southland Conference Outdoor Championships (May 14-16 in Arlington).

Meanwhile, senior Bryan Ugochukwu moved into second place in the conference standings with his personal-record 1:50.95 in the 800 meters. That was the fifth-fastest performance in program history and it topped his previous best set a year ago (1:51.59) by more than a half second.

Three-time All-American Teddy Williams ran his third 200m race of the season and he was able to run the curve in a wind-aided season-best 21.00. The senior from Tyler finished seventh in the field of 58 sprinters and the time is the second-fastest in the Southland this spring.

Freshman Phil Steinert continued his strong first season in the throwing events, as he recorded the third-longest discus measurement in school history with his toss of 164-9 (50.22m). That was good for 10th in the 31-man field and it also enabled him to move to third in the league's standings.

The 1,600m relay team of freshman Spenser Eggleston, Williams, junior Canel Cole and Ugochukwu clocked the team's quickest time of the campaign in a fifth-place performance. They quartet circled the Mike A. Myers Stadium track four times in 3:12.12.

Junior Brandon Chuminetta picked up the Roadrunners' lone medal of the day with his bronze in the 3,000m stepplechase. The Dripping Springs native clocked a season-best 9:26.00.

UTSA will stay in town next Saturday for the Trinity Last Chance, which will be its final meet of the regular season.
