Junior Kendra Rowland recorded her seventh double-double of the year on Friday.

PRAIRIE VIEW — Outside hitter Kendra Rowland led UTSA with her seventh double-double of the season (14 digs/13 kills) and her performance helped the Roadrunners end their four-match losing streak with a 25-27, 25-11, 25-19, 25-18 victory on Friday at Prairie View A&M.

UTSA (5-11) used a 9-3 run to go in front 24-23 in the opening frame, but a Cheri Lindsay kill staved off the Birds' set point. A winner by Andee Josserand one service later gave the Birds another chance to take an 1-0 lead, but the Lady Panthers (5-13) were up to the task once again and they scored the final three points to win the opening set.

It was all UTSA from there, as it trailed just five times during the final three frames. The Roadrunners registered a .350 hitting percentage in that span, including a .469 mark in the final stanza, and they remained undefeated, 15-0, in all-time series that dates back to the 1989 season.

Setter Amber Brooks picked up her eighth double-double of the year with a match-high 42 assists and 11 digs, while outside hitter Elise Huskey had a season-best 11 winners. Rowland also was strong at the service line with three aces.

Defensively, middle hitter Stefanie Robbins dominated the net with a season-high half dozen blocks (two solo/four assists) and libero Kelsey Jewasko helped control the back row with 13 digs.

Lindsay led the Lady Panthers with 14 kills and a pair of service aces.

UTSA resumes Southland Conference play at 4 p.m. on Saturday when it wraps up its four-match road trip at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (7-10, 0-2 SLC).
