IRVING – First-year women’s tennis coach Erin Boisclair picked up her first career win as UTSA collected a 5-0 victory against North Texas on Sunday afternoon at the Las Colinas Indoor Facility. The Roadrunners improved to 1-1 on the season, while the Lady Eagles dropped to 0-1.
UTSA began the match by sweeping all three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead.
In singles action, sophomores Sandra Kukla and Monika Drabkova posted their first wins of the season with a straight set victories at the No. 3 and No. 4 singles spots, respectively. At the No. 5 slot, senior Ana Paula Soto Anton clinched the match for the Roadrunners with a 6-1, 6-0 victory against Mary Poe. Also in action was sophomore Eva Silvester, who collected her first win of the season (6-0, 6-4).
The Roadrunners are back in action on Saturday, Feb. 3, when they hit the road again for a non-conference match at Texas A&M. First serve is scheduled for 10 a.m.
