SAN ANTONIO - The UTSA men's basketball team hosts Texas-Arlington in a Southland Conference contest on Saturday, Feb. 26, as part of annual homecoming festivities on the UTSA campus. Tip is set for 6 p.m. at the Convocation Center.

UTSA will be seeking the season sweep of Texas-Arlington after scoring a 79-72 win over the Mavericks on Feb. 9 in Arlington. The Roadrunners lead all-time by a 26-23 count, but have lost four of the last five meetings.

Coach Carter:
Tim Carter is in his 10th season at UTSA and has a career record of 146-134 (.523) with the Roadrunners and 157-150 (.512) overall . . . He is the winningest men's basketball coach in UTSA history and has the longest tenure . . . He scored his 100th career win on Dec. 1, 2001 over Illinois State and his 100th win at UTSA on Feb. 4, 2002 at Texas-Arlington . . . Carter was named the 1999 SLC "Coach of the Year" . . . He came to UTSA after one season at Nebraska-Omaha. He has served as an assistant coach at Oklahoma (1984), Midwestern State (1984-86), Houston (1986-87), Oklahoma State (1987-90) and Northwestern (1990-94) . . . He has led UTSA to the NCAA Tournament in 1999 and 2004.
The Matchup:
UTSA has played Texas-Arlington more than any other school in history. This will be the 50th all-time meeting between the two schools with the Roadrunners holding a 26-23 all-time lead over the Mavericks. UTSA won earlier this season by a 79-72 count on Feb. 9 in Arlington. The win broke a four-game losing streak to Texas-Arlington. The Mavericks are 10-12 versus UTSA in San Antonio.

The UTSA men's basketball program now has 364 wins. The Roadrunners have averaged 15.3 wins a season as a program over the first 23 years, and are the winningest program in the SLC over the past nine years.
Banging The Boards:
UTSA has been a beast on the boards through 24 games this season, and have been outrebounded by only six opponents -- Texas, Northwestern State (twice), Texas-Pan American, Lamar and Southeastern Louisiana. The Roadrunners average 42.3 rebounds per game, which is tops in the SLC, to only 37.3 for their opponents. UTSA pulled down 61 rebounds in the home loss to Lamar, which was only two shy of a school record.
Balanced Attack:
In 15 of 24 games this season, UTSA has had four-or-more players scoring in double figures and is 10-5 in those games. The Roadrunners have two games with five players scoring in double figures and is 2-0 in those games.

According to the Sagarin College Basketball Rankings, UTSA has played the 205th toughest schedule of all NCAA Division I schools after the game with Lamar. UTSA is currently ranked No. 198 overall.

Pass The Millsap:
Senior forward John Millsap currently leads the team in scoring (13.7 ppg), rebounding (7.0 rpg) and double figure scoring games (18). In SLC play his numbers are even bigger at 14.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per outing. He is the only Roadrunners player to start all 24 games this season.
Super Sub:
Senior guard Rapheal Posey continues to be a spark off of the bench for UTSA, averaging 12.9 points per game in conference play, all in a reserve role. Over the last three weeks and in five games he has averaged 15.2 points per game. UTSA is 11-6 when Posey scores in double figures.
Sign 'Em Up:
In the fall, UTSA announced that four players had signed national letters of intent to play for the Roadrunners next season. The signees include three incoming freshmen and a junior college transfer. Signing with UTSA are 6-6 forward Kyile Byrd from Lon Morris (Texas) Junior College; 6-1 guard Tim Maiden and 6-9 center Nkem Ojougboh from Scottsdale (Ariz.) Christian Academy; and 6-4 guard Eric Young from Eisenhower High School in Houston, Texas.

UTSA will remain at home to face Stephen F. Austin on Tuesday, March 1 at 8 p.m. in the Convocation Center. It will be the Roadrunners' final home game of the regular season.
