SAN ANTONIO - Fresh off a 79-71 victory over Louisiana Tech on Sunday, the Texas-San Antonio men's basketball team (4-2) travels to Kansas for a road contest at Kansas State (6-0) on Saturday, Dec. 18. Tip is set for 7 p.m. at Bramlage Coliseum.

Tim Carter is in his 10th season at UTSA and has a career record of 138-124 (.527) with the Roadrunners and 149-140 (.516) overall . . . He is the winningest men's basketball coach in UTSA history and has the longest tenure . . . He scored his 100th career win on Dec. 1, 2001 over Illinois State and his 100th win at UTSA on Feb. 4, 2002 at Texas-Arlington . . . Carter was named the 1999 SLC "Coach of the Year" . . . He came to UTSA after one season at Nebraska-Omaha. He has served as an assistant coach at Oklahoma (1984), Midwestern State (1984-86), Houston (1986-87), Oklahoma State (1987-90) and Northwestern (1990-94) . . . He has led UTSA to the NCAA Tournament in 1999 and 2004.

The Matchup:
This will be the fourth meeting all-time between the two schools, with Kansas State holding a 3-0 advantage with all previous games also played at Bramlage Coliseum in Manhattan, Kan. Kansas State won the first meeting by a 103-65 count on Nov. 23, 1991. The Wildcats won the second meeting 86-75 on Nov. 29, 1999. The last meeting went to Kansas State by a 71-55 count on Nov. 18, 2000.

UTSA has some Kansas connections as coach Tim Carter was born and raised in Wichita, Kan., while senior guard Rapheal Posey is from Topeka, Kan., where he was his hometown's high school Player of the Year as a senior.

Home Sweet Home:
Tough to beat in the UTSA Convocation Center, the Roadrunners have an all-time home record of 213-86 (.715) in the Convo. UTSA is 1-1 all-time in the Alamodome.

Working Overtime:
UTSA enters to 2004-05 season with a reputation as team that is tough in overtime. The Roadrunners are 12-7 all-time in extra session games under coach Tim Carter, and have won nine of the past 10.

You Can Call Me Ray:
Junior center Ray Selvage has made his impact felt early this season with two double-double's in points and rebounds, while leading UTSA and the Southland Conference in rebounding at 7.8 per game.

Injury Report:

Guard Kurt Attaway is sidelined with an injured right thumb and is doubtful for Saturday's game with Kansas State.

Harbert Update:
Senior Justin Harbert has been ruled academically eligible for games played during the spring semester and is expected to return to the UTSA lineup against Kansas State. He missed all six games played during the fall semester because he was academically ineligible. Harbert, a 6-1 guard, appeared in all 33 games last season, averaging 10.5 points per game and he led the Roadrunners with 63 3-point field goals.

Sign 'Em Up:

Recently UTSA announced that four players had signed national letters of intent to play for the Roadrunners next season. The signees include three incoming freshmen and a junior college transfer. Signing with UTSA are 6-6 forward Kyile Byrd from Lon Morris (Texas) Junior College; 6-1 guard Tim Maiden and 6-9 center Nkem Ojougboh from Scottsdale (Ariz.) Christian Academy; and 6-4 guard Eric Young from Eisenhower High School in Houston, Texas.
