LAST GAME:
UTSA won its third overtime game in 11 days by scoring a 95-91 extra session victory over the Lamar Cardinals on Jan. 28 in Beaumont. LeRoy Hurd (26 points) and Rapheal Posey (25) combined for 51 points to lead the way for UTSA. Despite being out-shot by Lamar, UTSA made 31 of 40 free throws and out-rebounded the Cardinals 49-39.

THE COACH:
Tim Carter is in his ninth season at UTSA and has a career record of 123-119 (.508) with the Roadrunners and 134-135 (.498) overall ...He scored his 100th career win on Dec.1, 2001, over Illinois State and his 100th win at UTSA on Feb.4, 2002, at Texas-Arlington ...He is the winningest men's basketball coach in UTSA history and has the longest tenure ...Carter was named the 1999 SLC "Coach of the Year"...He came to UTSA after one season at Nebraska-Omaha. He has served as an assistant coach at Oklahoma (1984), Midwestern State (1984-86), Houston (1986-87), Oklahoma State (1987-90) and Northwestern (1990-94).

HOME SWEET HOME:
Tough to beat in the UTSA Convocation Center, the Roadrunners have an all-time home record of 202-85 (.706) in the Convo. UTSA is 1-1 all-time in the Alamodome.

WORKING OVERTIME:
Despite the double overtime loss in game six this season to Texas-Pan American on Dec.6, UTSA is 12-7 all-time in extra session games under coach Tim Carter, and have won nine of the past 10. The Roadrunners went 3-0 last season in overtime games with wins over Idaho State, Lamar and Nicholls State. The loss to UTPA broke a string of six consecutive overtime wins for UTSA. The Roadrunners have rebounded to win three overtime games over the past 11 days, with wins at Nicholls State on Jan. 17, at home versus Northwestern State on Jan. 24 and at Lamar, Jan. 28.

NINE AND COUNTING:
UTSA men's basketball is nine wins away from 350 as a program. UTSA has averaged 15.2 wins a season as a program over the first 22 years.

SCHEDULE NOTES:
UTSA played three games this season against teams which appeared in the 2003 NCAA Tournament -- Oklahoma State, New Mexico State and Sam Houston State.

GETTING TO 100:
UTSA's 100-71 victory over Sul Ross State on Dec. 15 marked the first time the Roadrunners' had topped the century mark since accomplishing the feat on Feb.17, 2001 against Louisiana-Monroe. UTSA has topped 100 points now 34 times.

DOUBLE DUKE :
UTSA senior LeRoy "Duke" Hurd scored in double figures in 36 of 41 career games at UTSA. Hurd had four double-double's last season and already has eight more this season against Idaho State, Texas-Pan American, Baylor, Sul Ross State, Texas A&M, San Francisco, Northwestern State and Lamar. He recorded a double-double in four straight games from 12-6-03 to 12-18-03.

IRON MEN :
UTSA has six players averaging over 24.5 minutes of playing time a game this season, with both Hurd and Kurt Attaway averaging over 32.1 a game. Hurd has four games this season 41-or-more minutes of playing time.

A TALE OF TWO HALVES :
UTSA has led at halftime in nine of the 19 games played this season and has a record of 5-4 in those games. The Roadrunners have outscored opponents by 51 points during the first 20 minutes, but have been outscored by 79 points in second halves this season.

CLIMBING THE LIST:
With 751 points, Hurd is No.22 on the all-time UTSA scoring list. He needs seven to move past Darren Webber into 21st and 13 points to pass Afis Olajuwon into No.20.With 320 rebounds, he ranks No.22 all-time. David President has 205 career assists, good for No.9 all-time.

BOARD ROOM:
It has long been said that whomever wins the battle of the boards usually wins the game. So far this season that hasn't necessarily been true for UTSA, which is 5-5 in games they have prevailed on the glass. Overall UTSA has out-rebounded the opposition 715-689. UTSA grabbed 60 rebounds in the home overtime win over Northwestern State, which was only four shy of the school record of 64.

HOOP CITY:
UTSA has had its struggles this season shooting the basketball, with 10 games under 40 percent from the field, and seven under 37%. As a team the Roadrunners are shooting 40.9%. The all-time low was 40.6% in 2002-03.

ROADRUNNERS vs. COLONELS:
It will be the 34th meeting between the two schools on Saturday, with UTSA holding a 17-16 lead in the series after winning on Jan.17, 83-79 in overtime at Nicholls State. UTSA has dominated the series as of late, winning six straight. UTSA is 9-5 all-time in games played in San Antonio. LeRoy Hurd led UTSA with 25 points in the first meeting, while Willie Depron had 24 for the
Colonels.
