LAST GAME
UTSA dropped its Southland Conference opener by an 85-64 count at Texas-Arlington on Jan.10. Steven Thomas scored a career-high 30 points to lead the Mavericks to victory. UTA connected on 32 of 37 free throw attempts, led by Thomas, who was 16 for 17. The Roadrunners, who were led by LeRoy Hurd with 24 points, never led in the game.

Tim Carter is in his ninth season at UTSA and has a career record of 120-117 (.506) with the Roadrunners and 131-133 (.496) overall ...He scored his 100th career win on Dec.1, 2001 over Illinois State and his 100th win at UTSA on Feb.4, 2002 at Texas-Arlington ...He is the winningest men's basketball coach in UTSA history and has the longest tenure ...Carter was named the 1999 SLC "Coach of the Year" ...He came to UTSA after one season at Nebraska-Omaha. He has served as an assistant coach at Oklahoma (1984), Midwestern State (1984-86), Houston (1986-87), Oklahoma State (1987-90) and Northwestern (1990-94).
HOME SWEET HOME
Tough to beat in the UTSA Convocation Center, the Roadrunners have an all-time home record of 201-84 (.706) in the Convo. UTSA is 1-1 all-time in the Alamodome.
WORKING OVERTIME
Despite the double overtime loss in game six this season to Texas-Pan American, UTSA is 9-7 all-time in extra session games under coach Tim Carter. The Roadrunners went 3-0 last season in overtime games with wins over Idaho State, Lamar and Nicholls State. The loss to UTPA broke a string of six consecutive overtime wins for UTSA.

UTSA men's basketball is 12 wins away from 350 as a program. UTSA has averaged 15.2 wins a season as a program over the first 22 years.
SCHEDULE NOTES
UTSA will play three games this season against teams which appeared in the 2003 NCAA Tournament -- Oklahoma State, New Mexico State and Sam Houston State.
GETTING TO 100
UTSA's 100-71 victory over Sul Ross State on Dec.15 marked the first time the Roadrunners' had topped the century mark since accomplishing the feat on Feb.17, 2001 against Louisiana-Monroe. UTSA has topped 100 points now 34 times.
DOUBLE DUKE
UTSA senior LeRoy "Duke" Hurd scored in double figures in 31 of 36 career games at UTSA. The Southland Conference's leading scorer at 17.6 points per game last year, Hurd had four double-double's last season and already has six more this season against Idaho State, Texas-Pan American, Baylor, Sul Ross State, Texas A&M and San Francisco. He recorded a double-double in four straight games from 12-6-03 to 12-18-03.
IRON MEN
UTSA has five players averaging over 25.8 minutes of playing time a game this season, with both Hurd and Kurt Attaway averaging over 31.9 a game.
A TALE OF TWO HALVES
UTSA has led at halftime in nine of the 14 games played this season and has a record of 5-4 in those games. The Roadrunners have outscored opponents by 67 points during the first 20 minutes, but have been outscored by 84 points in second halves this season.
CLIMBING THE LIST
With 637 points, Hurd is No.28 on the all-time UTSA scoring list. He needs 19 points to move past Rob Wallace into 27th all-time and 34 to move past Jon Havens into 26th.
BOARD ROOM
It has long been said that whomever wins the battle of the boards usually wins the game. So far this season that hasn't necessarily been true for UTSA, which is 3-3 in games they have prevailed on the glass. Overall UTSA has been out-rebounded the opposition 512-501.
HOOP CITY
UTSA has had its struggles this season shooting the basketball, with eight games under 40 percent from the field, and six under 37%. As a team the Roadrunners are shooting 41.1%. The all-time low was 40.6% in 2002-03.
ROADRUNNERS vs. LIONS
It will be the 16th meeting between the two schools on Thursday, with UTSA currently holding a 9-6 lead in the series. The two schools split last season with the Lions winning 72-53 in Hammond, La., while UTSA prevailed 80-69 in San Antonio. UTSA has won six of the last seven meetings. Southeastern Louisiana's Terry West averaged 18.5 points per game against UTSA last season, with LeRoy Hurd scoring 21 in his lone game against the Lions a year ago.
