Tyler Coleman joined UTSA’s Sports Medicine Staff in July 2025 and currently works with the baseball program as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. Previously, he worked as a Resident Athletic Trainer during the 2024-2025 season for the men’s and women’s track & field teams before transitioning to his role of coverage for the baseball program for the Spring 2025 season while completing the UTHealth San Antonio Rehabilitation Residency program.

Coleman is a native of Wilkesboro, North Carolina, and graduated from Appalachian State University in 2022 with his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. He then went on to the University of North Carolina- Charlotte to complete his Master of Science in Athletic Training, graduating in 2024. While completing coursework, Coleman gained athletic training experience while providing coverage to the UNC-C Football program and Julius Chambers High School. In the Spring 2024, he completed an immersion semester with the University of Oregon Football program, including coverage of the University of Oregon ProDay. During his first season at UTSA, Coleman was part of the historic American Conference Baseball Regular Season Championship as well as the Austin Regional Championship in the NCAA postseason.

In his free time, Tyler enjoys weightlifting, fishing/hunting and golfing. Coleman’s favorite superhero is Spider-Man.
