Tre Mitsui joined UTSA’s Sports Medicine Staff in November 2018 and works primarily with the women’s basketball program.

Mitsui is a native of Kaneohe, Hawaii, and graduated from the University of New Mexico in 2013 with his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training.

After graduation, Mitsui worked as an intern at the Family Chiropractic Center of South Pasadena for a year.

He returned to school to begin his Master of Science in Exercise Science at California State University of Los Angeles. While completing coursework, he provided athletic training services to the Golden Eagles’ men and women’s Soccer, cross country and track & field, basketball, baseball and tennis programs.

Mitsui has also gained experience outside of college athletics, working as an athletic trainer for X-Med covering Red Bull Action Sports events and has also covered Adidas Uprising.

He is certified in Personalized Blood Flow Restriction Rehabilitation, Myofascial Decompression Level 1 and RockTape Fascial Movement Taping Level 1 and Level 2.

He is the proud owner of Po, UTSA’s Emotional Support Animal. In his free time, Mitsui enjoys riding his motorcycle, cooking and working out. He says his favorite superhero is Deadpool.
