Stephanie Yowell is in her second season as an assistant coach for the UTSA women’s basketball program.
Yowell came to the Alamo City from Fresno State where she served as a graduate assistant from the 2016-18. While at Fresno State, the Bulldogs competed in back-to-back Mountain West Basketball Championships, including the 2017 championship game against Boise State.
Prior to Fresno State, Yowell competed for the BC Pharmaserv Marbug, which competes in the Bundesliga, Germany’s top-flight professional league. She also played for the Net Scouts USA All-Star Team that traveled to China in the summer of 2015 and 2016.
The Casper, Wyo., native played for Northern Colorado under current Fresno State head coach Jaime White for three seasons. The four-year starter and two-time All-Big Sky selection holds school records for most career 20-point games (34) and single-season records for points (598) and blocks (75). During her senior campaign, she helped the Bears win 22 games and reach the third round of the WNIT.
The former Stephanie Lee earned a bachelor’s degree in business finance from Northern Colorado in 2015 and a master’s degree in sports administration from Fresno State in 2018.
She and her husband, Dilan, reside in San Antonio.
