Mike Bazemore is UTSA's Deputy Athletics Director/Finance and Strategic Initiatives.
In his role, Bazemore will oversee and direct the operation and administration of the UTSA Athletics Department's budget, financial planning and reporting. He will provide oversight for the daily financial operations, develop long range financial planning for the department, align strategic initiatives with financial planning in alignment with the university mission, vision and values. He also will provide leadership for the facilities operations and financial oversight for capital projects.

A native of Savannah, Ga., Bazemore has more than 25 years of experience in intercollegiate athletics, including more than 20 as an associate or assistant athletics director.

Bazemore comes to UTSA from San Jose State, where he served as Assistant Athletics Director (AD) for Business, Facilities and Events. During his tenure, he coordinated daily business operations for the department and oversaw facilities and events staff.
Bazemore was Associate AD for Business Operations at UC Davis from 2009 to 2017. As Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the department, he oversaw an annual budget of more than $30 million. In addition to providing oversight for all aspects of the business office, information technology, equipment operations and several sports, he helped implement contracts with Adidas and Anthony Travel.
Prior to his time at UC Davis, Bazemore was the Fiscal Coordinator at Nevada for three years (2006-09). While in Reno, he oversaw sport budgets, coordinated the courtesy car program and monitored travel and purchasing cards and trade agreements.
Bazemore served as Assistant AD for Business and Finance at UCF from 2001 to 2006. He served as CFO for an annual budget of more than $20 million, provided oversight of equipment operations, several sports and the ticket office and took on the role of contract administrator. During his time in Orlando, he coordinated the transition to a stand-alone 501-C-3.
Bazemore got his start in intercollegiate athletics in 1993 at Jacksonville. He was the Assistant AD for Administration and Finance before being promoted to Associate AD in 2000. During his tenure, he coordinated all financial transactions and provided oversight of compliance, marketing, sports medicine and several sports. He also served as co-director of conference men's and women's basketball and baseball tournaments hosted by the school.
Bazemore earned his bachelor's degree from Sam Houston State in 1982 and a Master of Science degree in Sport Administration from St. Thomas (Miami, Fla.) in 1992.
