A member of UTSA Athletics’ Academic Services staff since August 2014, Lydia Placzek was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Academic Services in April 2017 after serving as an Academic Coordinator for two-and-a-half years.

Among her many responsibilities, Placzek monitors academic success for the Roadrunners’ football program, analyzes continuing eligibility requirements, tracks degree progress per NCAA regulations and works with administrators, coaches, faculty and campus support areas.

Placzek came to UTSA from Nebraska-Kearney, where she was Student-Athlete Affairs Liaison/Accounting Technician from 2013 to 2014.

Prior to her stint in Kearney, Placzek was an assistant equestrian coach at Kansas State during the 2012-13 academic year and an equestrian graduate assistant at South Dakota State from 2011-12.

Placzek is a member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletes (N4A) and the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletic Administrators (NACWAA).

Placzek earned her bachelor’s degree in agricultural business from South Dakota State in 2011 and her master’s degree in education from South Dakota State in 2013.
