Lionel Williams is in his first year as UTSA’s facilities and event coordinator in 2021-22.
Williams is tasked with coordinating UTSA’s facilities and event operations in San Antonio, working directly with assigned sports while helping the day-to-day management of Roadrunners 17-sport intercollegiate athletics program.
Williams comes to the Roadrunners after serving in a similar role at UIW, where he was the Coordinator of Athletics Operations from 2018-2021 and was the UIW Facilities Events Management Coordinator from 2015-2018.
Williams joined the collegiate athletics world after working with P&C Claims as a commercial claims adjustor with Nationwide Insurance from 2006-14.
A former soccer student-athlete, h earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education from UIW in 2001 and a master’s in organizational development/adult education from UIW in 2007. Williams was named a Heart of Texas honorable mention selection and was a two-time all-conference soccer standout.
