Lateshia Dove was hired on as the coordinator of Learning Services at UTSA. Here, she provides invaluable support to student-athletes, particularly those who may have learning disabilities, ADHD, or other conditions that can impact their educational performance – collaborating closely with these individuals and working diligently to determine appropriate accommodations, assistive technology, and resources tailored to their unique needs.
Before coming to San Antonio, Dove worked as an assistant learning specialist at the University of Illinois, where she would develop and implement individualized plans for academic skills development – including time management techniques, note taking, and enhanced study habits. Before entering her role as a learning specialist, she also spent time working as a graduate teaching assistant, being tasked with developing course materials and administering semester exams for over 600 students.
Dove completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois in 2016, earning a Bachelor's degree in Community Health. She continued her pursuit of knowledge by receiving her first Master's degree in Kinesiology in 2020 from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, and obtained a second Master's degree in Sport Management in 2022.
Originally from Champaign, Illinois, Dove's passion for athletics and commitment to excellence were evident as she excelled as a Fighting Illini women's track and field athlete from 2012 to 2016. In 2019, she received the honor of being inducted into the Urbana High School Hall of Fame.
