Kevin Jannusch is in his first season as a volunteer assistant coach at UTSA.

The all-time winningest coach in Ashford history, Jannusch capped his time with the Saints in 2016 with the first conference title and national tournament appearance in program history. Ashford won a record 30 games as Jannusch coached four players to NFCA All-Region honors.
In his six years at Ashford (2011-16), Jannusch coached eight NFCA All-Region picks, while his players racked up 33 all-conference honors in the Midwest Collegiate Conference and the Association of Independent Institutions. In addition, three of his student-athletes were inducted into the Ashford Athletics Hall of Fame. In 2016, Jannusch also was inducted into the school’s athletics Hall of Fame.
Jannusch piled up 142 wins while at Incarnate Word, a mark that ranks second in program annals. The Cardinals totaled 18 All-Heartland Conference awards, four NFCA All-Region certificates and a pair of NFCA All-America honors.
The 2006 team set school records for wins (46), home victories (22) and longest winning streak (13) as it earned a Heartland title and went on to a runner-up finish in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional Tournament. The Cardinals earned their first-ever DII ranking that season, peaking at No. 14 in the final poll.
Other stops in Jannusch’s coaching career include Texas State (1996), St. Edward’s (1997-2000), Evansville (2007), Mesa State [Colo.] (2008) and Lincoln [Mo.] University (2009). In addition, he founded and coached the Hearts of Texas Girls Fastpitch Club from 1998-2007.
