A native of Artesia, New Mexico, Chumbley will handle primary responsibilities with the UTSA Baseball, cheer, women’s tennis and volleyball for the 2025-26 athletic year.
Chumbley joined the Roadrunners on Oct. 14, after spending some time at NM State, where he handled primary responsibilities with NM State Baseball and Women’s Soccer.
A graduate from Texas Tech, Chumbley got his start as an in-house reporter for the Kansas City Chiefs during the 2022-23 season, where he covered the Chiefs during their third Super Bowl win.
From there, Chumbley began working with the Texas Tech Athletics communications intern, where he provided assistance in a variety of programs.
Chumbley graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts in public relations and strategic communications in December 2022 and a Master of Arts in Communication with an emphasis in sports communication in December 2023.
