Hired in 2007 to oversee the UTSA Athletics Compliance Office, Josh Daume is in his 10th year as UTSA’s Associate Athletics Director for Compliance.
Serving as the Senior Compliance Administrator for UTSA, Daume oversees all compliance operations for the Athletics Department. He is responsible for educating the department’s coaches and staff on NCAA legislation, providing interpretations, processing rules violations and preparing waiver requests. Further, Daume coordinates the business of the Intercollegiate Athletics Council, a group of university administrators and faculty members charged with overseeing the athletics department. He also represents UTSA at Conference USA and NCAA compliance meetings.
Prior to UTSA, Daume was the Internal Operations Coordinator at Texas State from 2004-07, where he assisted in the daily operations of the compliance office and with football recruiting weekends.
Daume also served as a graduate assistant at Texas A&M from 2003-04, where he advised student-athletes majoring in general studies.
A native of Burkburnett, Texas, Daume earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Midwestern State in 2002 and his master’s degree in sport management from Texas A&M in 2004.
He married the former Leah Bowen in July 2016.
