Israel Vasquez joined UTSA Athletics in October 2022 as a marketing associate. Far from a stranger to San Antonio athletics, Vasquez leaned on his huge passion for sports in his work as a game operations assistant for the San Antonio Spurs from August 2021 until November 2022, assisting in the development of game presentation and contributing to the planning and execution for fan growth experiences.
Prior to working with the Spurs, Vasquez was a graduate assistant at the University of the Incarnate Word, where he contributed to the management of gameday operations and assisted with the maintenance of athletic facilities.
Originally from Los Angeles, Vasquez moved to San Antonio in 2004 and graduated from Earl Warren High School on the city’s west side. He remained in the Alamo City into college, and became a first-generation university graduate by earning his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Incarnate Word in 2018 and went on to get his master of business administration from UIW in 2021.
