A 35-year veteran of the high school coaching ranks, George Ross is in his second season as a volunteer assistant coach for the UTSA women’s staff.
Ross spent 12 years as a teacher and head girls track and field coach at Converse Judson High School. He guided the Rockets to 11 district titles, seven regional crowns and one district runner-up finish.
Prior to coaching at Judson, Ross held the same position for 13 years at San Antonio Jay High School, where he led the Mustangs to 10 district titles and four regional championships.
Ross started girls basketball and track and field programs at Clovis (N.M.) High School. He won state titles in track in 1975 and in basketball in 1977.
Ross resides in San Antonio with his wife, Teresa. The couple has one daughter, Tami, who lives in Farmington, N.M.
