Connor Coker was named UTSA’s Assistant Athletics Director for Equipment Operations in April 2025.

Among his many responsibilities at UTSA are to provide overall management, oversight and supervision of the daily equipment operations, collaborate with coaches and staff to proactively and effectively address the equipment needs of all intercollegiate athletic programs, ensure all equipment complies with NCAA, conference and university regulations and branding and coordinate the transportation of equipment, uniforms and supplies for away competitions.

Coker came to San Antonio from Western Michigan, where he the director of football equipment for one year. He facilitated and oversaw the operation of the equipment depart for the football program, coordinated packing and logistics of equipment for road trips and maintained and ensured proper equipment fitting for all football student-athletes, among other duties.

Prior to his time at Western Michigan, Coker was the assistant director of football equipment at Western Kentucky for two years. During his time with the Hilltoppers, he created the Big Red uniform series and directed uniform reveals that helped generate more than $1 million in earned media revenue. He also executed CoachComm setup for practices and games, assisted with proper equipment fitting for all football student-athletes and assisted with equipment ordering and apparel fulfillment, among other duties.

Coker got his start in the industry as a student manager at Appalachian State in 2018. He was promoted to head student manager in 2020 and served in that role for two years.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Appalachian State in 2021. He is certified by the Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA).
