Charles Young III joined UTSA in March 2023 as video producer after working at SMU’s MustangVision for nearly four years, starting as a producer before his promotion to assistant director in May 2021. He assisted the Mustangs with displaying advertisements for in game sponsorships through Learfield IMG, while also working in tandem with SMU marketing and communications to create videos and social content to showcase athletes.
As UTSA’s lead broadcast producer and director, Young plays an instrumental role in ensuring a smooth broadcast for all Roadrunner sporting events by overseeing and directing all control room personnel during broadcasts. He has played a key role in the build-out and upgrades for UTSA’s control room as the Roadrunners prepared to join the American Athletic Conference.
A familiar face to the Roadrunners, Young worked previously at his alma mater as an Assistant Producer for UTSA Athletics from 2015-18, taking on roles ranging from camera operator to technical director, developing assets for the Roadrunners’ social media, broadcast and video needs.
Young is a San Antonio native and graduated from UTSA in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in communications.
