Brandon Raphael was hired in October 2012 as UTSA’s Associate Athletics Director for Development and promoted to Senior Associate AD/Development & Ticket Operations in July 2016.
Raphael, who oversees the department’s five-member development staff and all ticket sales programs, is responsible for donor identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. He has helped raise more than $30 million, secured the largest gift in UTSA Athletics history and created the department’s first-ever capital campaign during his tenure.
Prior to his time in the Alamo City, Raphael was the Director of Development at Cal Poly Pomona from 2009-12. He helped secure the largest-ever gift — $13 million — for the institution and successfully launched the athletics department’s first capital campaign.
Raphael was the Director of Ticket Sales and Service for CD Chivas USA of Major League Soccer from 2007-09. He also has served as National Sales Manager Consultant and Senior Corporate Marketing Manager for Mandalay Sports Entertainment, where he oversaw outside ticket sales for the Frisco RoughRiders and Las Vegas 51s, along with a stint as Vice President/Business Operations for Every Contractor Inc. in Las Vegas, Nev.
Raphael earned his bachelor’s degree in business management from Maryville University in his hometown of St. Louis, where he also was captain of the baseball team.
He and his wife, Kimberly, have two children, Caden and Brooklyn.
