After spending six years at the University of Tulsa, Anthony Fortier was named UTSA’s Assistant AD of Equipment Operations in July of 2022.
Fortier graduated from FAU in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies and was the Owls’ head football student manager. Following his time at FAU, Fortier was hired as an athletic equipment intern at Tulsa. After a year as an intern, Fortier accepted a graduate assistant position with the Golden Hurricane where he then earned his master’s degree in history.
After completing his two-year master’s program, Fortier was promoted to the Assistant Director of Equipment Operations at TU. Under that title, he worked with five sports in helping budget and procure/disperse apparel and footwear to athletes and faculty. As Assistant Director Fortier also was in charge of the student manager program.
Two years later, in the summer of 2021, Fortier was named the Director of Athletic Equipment at Tulsa. His main work was with the football program and he was effectively the school’s liaison with Adidas America. Fortier also had a secondary role where he recruited prospective students to come to Tulsa and be equipment managers.
