Tam-Anh Nguyen joined UTSA’s Sports Medicine Staff in October 2022 and works primarily with the women’s basketball program as an Assistant Athletic Trainer.
Nguyen is a native of Houston, Texas, and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2019 with her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. After graduation, she went on to the University of Connecticut to complete her Master of Science in Exercise Science, graduating in 2022. While completing coursework, Nguyen provided athletic training coverage at Eastern Connecticut State University for the Men’s and Women’s Rugby, Ice Hockey and Cheer teams. She also completed research at UConn and is working to publish her thesis “The Effects of Biological Sex on Heart Rate Recovery During Exercise in the Heat and Cold”.
In her free time, Nguyen likes to go hiking, snowboarding, play volleyball, basketball, flag football or go bowling. She says her favorite superhero is Black Panther.
