One of the top players in Seton Hall history, Ela Mukosiej is in her sixth season as an assistant coach for UTSA. She works directly with UTSA’s guards, while overseeing international recruiting and alumni relations.
In the 2019-20 season, Mukosiej assisted freshman Mikayla Woods earn a spot on the Conference USA All-Freshman team after she led the team in scoring and steals.
In 2017-18, Mukosiej helped the Roadrunners earned the top spot in Conference USA in defensive rebounds, collecting 478 (26.6 per game). She also helped Tesha Smith rank fifth in the conference for rebounds.
In 2015-16, Mukosiej assisted Smith in emerging as one of the top post players in Conference USA averaging a league seventh-best 8.3 rebounds per game.
The Poland native came to the Alamo City having spent the past seven years playing professionally overseas. The Poland native concluded her career with the MKK Siedlce Team as she led the club to a 22-2 overall record and was an instrumental part of the team’s success in becoming the top Polish League.
Her professional playing career landed her a spot on the Polish National Team in the summer of 2014. Prior to that, she played for AZS OPTeam Rzeszow, Tecza Leszno and Lotos Gdynia in Poland, Eskilstuna Basket in Sweden and C.R.E.F. Hola Madrid in Spain.
Before playing professionally, Mukosiej played two seasons at Seton Hall where she was an honorable mention All-Big East selection during the 2006-07 season. That same year, she was tabbed to the Big East Honor Roll four times and was selected as the Junior Female Athlete of the Year and A Clutch Player by the program’s coaching staff.
Mukosiej attended Jefferson College the two years prior to that and was named an NJCAA honorable mention All-American. She earned honorable mention all-region and all-region academic team accolades as a freshman.
