Joe Morales is in his first season on the UTSA coaching staff in 2021. He was introduced by Coach Laura Neugebauer-Groff on Aug. 26.
 
"I'm so excited to add Joe to our coaching staff," Neugebauer-Groff said. "I have known Joe for a long time and watched him grow as a both a coach and recruiter. His experience and familiarity will not only help our team, but also make the transition easier."
 
Morales comes to the Alamo City from Texas A&M University-Kingsville where he spent the last nine seasons as an assistant, primarily working with the setters and serving as recruiting coordinator.
 
During his time with the Javelinas, he helped lead them to the Lone Star Conference Tournament every season and a program-record seven consecutive winning seasons.
 
Prior to Texas A&M University-Kingsville, Morales served as a volunteer assistant coach at Texas State for the 2011 season. With the Bobcats, Morales helped the team go 15-1 in conference and capture the Southland Conference Championship and Tournament titles, finishing with an appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
 
Morales started his collegiate career at Iowa Central Community College as the assistant coach in 2009.
 
Morales graduated from Texas State with a bachelor's degree in Communications where he was a member of the men's volleyball club and received a master's in Sports and Athletic Administration from Gonzaga.
