Shelby Dale (MS, LAT, ATC, PES) joined UTSA’s Sports Medicine Staff in July of 2018 and works primarily with the women’s soccer program.

 

Dale is a native of Tampa, Florida, and graduated from the University of Tampa in 2014 with her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. While at UT, she studied abroad to the National Taiwan Sport University and was able to experience non-traditional sports as well as non-western treatment options.

 

Dale completed an undergraduate internship with the Tampa Bay Rowdies (NASL) during their National Championship season in 2012. She then moved on to Illinois State to complete her Master of Science in Athletic Training, graduating in 2016. While completing coursework at ISU, she served as the athletic trainer for the men’s soccer, women’s volleyball, softball and the men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs at Illinois Wesleyan University.

 

Dale completed two years as an intern with the University of Tennessee track and field programs and the Vol’s swimming and diving programs.

 

During the summers, Dale works as a Medical Director for Camp Woodward, an action sports and acrobatic summer camp located in Woodward, Pennsylvania. She holds certifications in Graston Technique M-1 Basic, Personalized Blood Flow Restriction Rehabilitation, National Academy of Sports Medicine- Performance Enhancement Specialist and Sports and Orthopedic Regenerative Dry Needling Level 1.

 

In her free time, she likes to be outside, hanging out with friends, family and her dog Maverick or watching a good movie and says her favorite superhero is Iron Man.
