Zac Rogers is entering his first season season with the Roadrunners staff after spending three years with Oklahoma Baptist as an assistant coach.
A native of Vian, Oklahoma - Rogers played at Wayland Baptist University under Coach Robert Davenport before transferring to Oklahoma Wesleyan University, where the Eagles went 80-21 while going to the NAIA Fab Four and Elite Eight.
Rogers began his coaching career post-playing, as he started as a graduate assistant under legendary Coach Lon Kruger at the University of Oklahoma. Rogers would then graduate from OU with a Master’s Degree in Intercollegiate Athletic Administration.
After his two-year stint with the Sooners, Rogers began as an assistant at Midwestern State under Nelson Haggarty where he worked for a year before being hired as an assistant with Connors State College where he spent three seasons. Over his three years at Connors State, the team went a combined 84-16. The team earned three OCAC championships and had trips to the NJCAA Elite Eight and Sweet Sixteen.
In 2019, Rogers was hired by Oklahoma Baptist as an assistant coach and also served as the team's recruiting coordinator and head strength coach.
In his first season with the Bison, Rogers helped lead OBU to a 22-9 season before play was halted for COVID-19. In his second season with Oklahoma Baptist, the Bison went 16-6 and won the Western Division GAC Championship.
Over his nine year career, Rogers has coached three future NBA players (Buddy Hield, Isaiah Cousins, Mason Jones), three future G-League players (Jordan Woodard, Je’lon Hornbeak, Khadeem Lattin), along with nine future overseas players.
Coach Henson on Rogers: "I'm very excited to have Zac join our staff. We worked together at OU and developed a strong relationship. Zac has been grinding hard the last few years as a JUCO and D2 assistant. He will have a noticable impact on our program."
